General Counsel: D. Simone Williams
Simone Williams, General Counsel at Gulf Coast Funds Management (“GCFM”), brings nearly 10 years of experience representing international businesses and investors in matters relating to U.S. Immigration and Corporate Compliance.
Prior to joining GCFM, Ms. Williams worked as an Associate for a prestigious international law firm in the firm’s Global Mobility Group, both in Toronto and Washington, DC. During her tenure, Ms. Williams served as outside-immigration counsel to large corporations, Fortune 500 companies, and high-net worth investors and worked on a variety of Global Migration and Compliance related issues. She counseled multinational and high-net worth investor clients regarding immigration consequences of corporate restructuring, expansions and reorganizations and requirements for transfers of key executives and highly-skilled professionals. She advised clients on EB-5 Investor Visas, E Visas, O Visas, L, Visas and several other U.S Employment-Based visas for highly qualified individuals.
Ms. Williams also advised clients on regulatory issues before the Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection, Department of Justice, and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. For several companies, she provided guidance on establishing legally sound best practices, policies, and training programs for immigration and corporate compliance.
In 2012, Ms. Williams was awarded the distinguished honor of the Top 40 lawyers under the age of 40 by the National Bar Association.
Ms. Williams earned her Juris Doctorate degree from the Howard University School of Law. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (cum laude) in Sociology from the University of Toronto, Canada, where she was a Nationally Ranked Athlete in Canadian Track & Field.
